is the name of the organization that was founded by Ueshiba Kisshomaru (1920-?)
(son of O Sensei) that practices the traditional style of Aikido. Their
headquarters (Hombu Dojo) are in Tokio. It is this style that spread around
the world since 1950, making Aikido a well known sport.
This style is often referred to as the original Aikido. The movements and techniques of the Aikikai are very fluent and round of shape, making it a enjoyable style to watch.
